What Does It Cost to File a Bankruptcy Case?
If you file a Chapter 7 case, you will need to pay the entire flat-fee upfront before the case is filed. Flexible payments plans can be arranged as 360 Legal℠ works on preparing your bankruptcy case. 360 Legal℠ will work with you to determine a fee structure that works best for your needs.* Unlike a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case, all of the legal fees must be paid before your case is filed.
When a Chapter 13 case is being filed, 360 Legal℠ offers low down payments to get your case started. The remaining portion of the unpaid fee can be included as a debt in your Chapter 13 plan.
Expenses
In addition to being responsible for paying legal fees, you are also responsible for any associated expenses. Whether for one person or a married couple, it now costs $306 to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy case, $281 to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case and $1,213 to file a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case. In certain circumstances, the bankruptcy court agree to waive the Chapter 7 filing fee or allow you to pay it in installments.
Separate from the filing fee, you are also responsible for the following expenses:

Depending on the complexity of your case, along with other factors that may be relevant in your particular situation, legal fees and associated expenses will generally vary from case to case. Simply stated, legal fees depend on how much work the attorney needs to put into resolving your bankruptcy case form start to finish. Legal fees for Chapter 13 cases tend to be greater than Chapter 7 cases due to the among of work that it typically involved.
